Sammy

SAMMY is truly a queen in the HIMALAYAN world. Her coat is TORTIE POINT, she is between ages 2 and 4, has her claws, is up to date on vaccines, spayed, and is FIV/FeLV negative. She is content to rest regally in her cat tree and pass judgment on those who visit her. She has a very squished face that requires much eye-wiping and she makes little sniffling and snuffling sounds when she eats.

She came into foster care from a home with many cats and potentially hasn’t had much space to explore or exposure to many people. She initially shook with terror around her new foster mom, and it took three to four weeks of patient, quiet visits from her foster mom for Sammy to gain the confidence to step out of her cat tower on her own and say hello. Now, she’s an attention hog when it comes to her soft brush. She loves to purr and walk around and around her foster mom and be brushed, stopping for quick bites at her food dish. She does not like to be picked up and is not a lap kitty, but she is exceptionally gentle when she needs to be brushed, go to the vet, or have her eyes wiped.

Her coat can get extremely dense and fluffy but she’s been brushed and groomed to remove a lot of her undercoat and give her a fresh new start– and is still very poofy! Her fur does not seem prone to matting if brushed regularly.

Sammy deserves to be the queen of someone’s home. She will reward her new owner with tons of photogenic moments and her sweet, quiet presence if treated with patience and kindness. She is ok with other cats but doesn’t like dogs.
