Project Description

Sky is a 6 month old female WHITE PERSIAN; she has copper eyes, and has cerebellar hypoplasia.  This means she wobbles a bit when walking. But don’t let that deter you, I’ve seen this girl climb up the cat tree!  She is very affectionate and will run to the foster room door when she hears you coming and jump into your arms.  Sky loves to play and doesn’t let her handicap slow her down.  She purrs constantly and talks back as well!  As Persians, she does have some tearing from her eyes which requires daily maintenance.

Sky initially tested positive for FeLV.  She has had confirmatory testing over a two month period to determine the accuracy of initial tests.  Veterinary experts state that she has regressive latent feline leukemia.  That means the disease is being fought off (regressing) and is NOT active in the tissue or bone marrow (latent).  They are NOT shedding the virus and are safe to live with other cats without fear of spreading the infection. This also means that she is not sickly.  In fact, she’s more than doubled her weight since getting into foster care!  She should have a full normal lifespan without fear of consequences from a compromised immune system.  Their foster mom considers herr very blessed having received this good news. SPECIAL NEEDS ADOPTION FEE $37.50. FOSTERED IN DUBUQUE, IA.
