Project Description

NEECIE…is a lovely DILUTE CALICO DOMESTIC SHORTHAIR. She is around 2 years old, spayed and 4 paw declawed. She weighs approximately 7 pounds and has a gorgeous short coat in muted orange, black and white, and bright green/gold eyes. We really don’t know anything about what happened to Neecie before she wound up in a cardboard box on the SPCR director’s porch, but whatever it was it most likely wasn’t good. Though Neecie is fine physically, it was apparent to her foster home that she had come from an abusive atmosphere where she had been hit in the face. The first few weeks in foster care she would cringe and shrink back whenever a hand approached for petting, but as you can see by her video below, this has greatly changed. The use of canned food, a calm environment and lots of encouragement has brought out a lovely personality that is really quite affectionate and WANTS to be pet. She chirps and communicates with her foster person and now welcomes her when she enters the foster room. It has been wonderful to see her improve and thrive and we are looking for a similar permanent home where her progress can continue. Neecie would do best in a quiet adult environment with cat-experienced, loving people who would let her emerge at her own pace. She is not particularly active, though she may become moreso once she settles into somewhere permanent, and she really loves a sunny window where she can bird watch. We don’t think Neecie lived with other pets, but her foster mom thinks she would be ok with another easy-going MALE cat that would pretty much ignore her as she was slowly introduced. She is 100% with her litter box and of course a scratching post is not an issue for her. Take a look at her video and we think you will agree that this is a really precious feline who so deserves a caring home! Adoption Fee $75. FOSTERED IN KENOSHA, WI.
