Leonardo de Fuzzy Pants (aka Leo)
This handsome boy is Leonardo de Fuzzy Pants, informally known as Leo. He is a 14 year old RED TABBY WITH WHITE MAINE COON with stunning gold eyes and a loveable personality. He is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccinations, and has his claws. Leo is diabetic, but his diabetes is well-controlled with two doses of insulin (morning and evening) each day. It is important that Leo has 24-hour access to dry cat food to ensure his blood sugars do not drop too low. He also eats one can of wet cat food morning at evening, in conjunction with his insulin. He doesn’t mind his insulin injections and doesn’t even notice them when he’s eating.
He and his sisters came to SPCR when their owner moved into a nursing home and was no longer able to care for them. Although Leo loved his original home, he walked into his foster home liked he owned the place and settled in almost immediately. He currently lives with five dogs (small to large) and a young female cat. You’d think that a cat that’s never lived with dogs before would be terrified moving to a house full of them, but not Leo! He struts his stuff around the house and the dogs know he means business. He is great with the resident kitty, too. They are frequently found napping side-by-side.
Leo’s favorite person in the home is his 11-year-old human foster sister, Ella. He spends most of his time in her room, cuddling and playing with her. Leo originally detested being brushed, but Ella patiently brushed him little by little each day and now he is doing great with being groomed. Although Leo is great with Ella, he would do best in a home with children that are at least 9-10 years old and respectful of cats. He wouldn’t do well with young, rambunctious children.
Leo has a wonderful, laid-back personality. Nothing really rattles him. He likes to spend his days relaxing on Ella’s bed or in the bay window, watching the birds and squirrels. When it’s time for a meal, he can be quite vocal, especially if it’s not on time. He also likes to talk when he wants attention from his humans. Leo loves cat nip, especially his foster mom’s fresh stuff she grows in the kitchen. He can be quite playful with toys, too. Most days, his foster family can’t believe he is 14 years old because he has such a young, playful personality. MATURE ADOPTION FEE $25. FOSTERED IN AFTON, MN.
