KitKat

Say Hello to KITKAT, this cutie is a LYNX POINT SIAMESE. She is around 6 1/2 – 7 years old, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, is microchipped and has her claws.

She has the tabby markings on an easy to care for light colored under coat with those really pretty sunny sky blue, slightly crossed eyes that make her a Lynx Point Siamese and irresistibly cute!

KitKat found herself placed into a smaller overcrowded rural shelter after her original owners adopted a couple dogs and she wasn’t a fan of them……Of course she was use to being in a home setting since she was a kitten and as you can imagine,  being uprooted from the only home you’ve known and then placed into a shelter setting was very very scary for her. So the shelter reached out to SPCR to see if we could help her.

As a foster mom, I can tell you that many of our foster cats start out shy because they’ve been taken out of the only home they have known.  And so it was with KitKat when she first came to our home.  But it didn’t take her to long to figure out that she was safe and away from all the hustle and bustle of the shelter and she started to open up and show her personality and that continues more each day.

Here she has a comfy kitty bed to lay in in the sun and catch a nap or two and a cat tree to sit on too, to watch the birdies and squirrels and chipmunks from one of the windows in her foster room. Those are a couple of her favorite activities.  She also loves to come sit or lay next to you to be pet and get and give cheek and face rubs. At night she is now sleeping in bed near me.  KitKat’s just got a sweet, low- key disposition about her.  She’s not a needy kitty, she’s fine left on her own. So if you are someone that works away from home during the day she’d be fine. She’s a quiet girl, as she doesn’t talk a whole lot, although she does let me know when I’m a bit late with her dinner.  (-;  And she often, if not almost always, come to greet me when I come into her foster room and will follow me around at times too.

As you can see from the one video, KitKat’s not an overly playful girl 😀  but she will play with a couple of wand toys and interactive toys and will definitely play with small toys on her own. She also likes the Yeowww catnip bananas, especially when they are new, as well as fresh catnip from a garden. At this time she is only eating wet food (Fancy Feast) which she loves! She uses her litter box 100%.

We have tried to introduce her to some of our own cats and found, she’d really just like to be someone’s one and only companion kitty, in a quiet home, with either just adults, or adults and older (age 16+) kids. Little kids would just be to much for her as she likes her life on a slower pace and on the quiet side.
Kit Kat has been a wonderful girl to foster and I know she is going to make a wonderful companion kitty cat for some lucky adopter(s)!
