BEATRICEis a lovely  SEAL POINT SIAMESE. She is around 2 years old, spayed and has her claws. She weighs around 7 pounds and has an easy, silky short coat in cream, caramels and black and bright blue eyes.  Beatrice came from a local shelter with no real history but is doing very well in foster care! She is currently in a multi-cat foster home and is excellent with other cats. Her foster mom reports that she is affecationate and loves attention but is not particularly a lap cat. That could certainly change with time in the consistency of a stable Forever Home. She is not really talkative and is moderately active and sweet-natured. She has not been around dogs but would probably be ok with a gentle one that did not bark or chase. Older, respectful kids would be ok. Adoption fee $150. FOSTERED IN GURNEE,  IL.

LEO…is a magnificent SILVER PERSIAN MIX FROM EGYPT. He is 2 years old, neutered and has his claws. He weighs around 10 pounds. He has a full, easy, silky coat in white streaked with silver, nice “doll” face and bright gold eyes. He also has incredibly tufted ears that we typically don’t see on our Persians…but hey, that makes this great guy even more unique! Leo originated from our partnering organization in Egypt (www.esmaegypt.org) and was adopted into a great multi-cat household a few months ago. However Leo soon made it clear that he wanted the LION’S share of the human attention and was very dominating with some of the other cats in the household, so with much regret his people brought him back to rescue. LEO LOVES PEOPLE…the more attention the better! He adapts immediately to any new situation and bringing this loving boy into your household will by like having had him there his whole life! As you can see by his video below, Leo adores petting, playtime and just hanging around the family…he is a very social being. He gets along fine with dogs and would probably be ok with another easy-going cat that would let him be the KING, but if he could be the one and only, he’d really be happy! Leo is great with kids and would be an excellent family cat. DO NOT miss out on this handsome, special boy! Adoption fee $125. FOSTERED IN WAUKESHA, WI.

ROGER…is a dashing  BLUE LYNX POINT SIAMESE. He is neutered, has his claws, is a lean 10 pounds and is 2 years old.  He has a smooth, solid coat of blue with lynx markings throughout his face.  All we know is that Roger somehow ended up as a stray in an overcrowded facility with little hope of ever leaving.  His mournful, terrified rich blue eyes caught the attention of the director as she passed by his tiny cage and he was fortunate to catch a ride out of the shelter.  With nothing to go on, Roger has begun a new history with us.  He came in petrified—literally—in foster care, he did not move.  He was like a grey concrete cinder block.  His eyes were dead; he made no contact; he did not react to any form of touch, talk or encouragement.  For weeks, his foster mom would dutifully sit by his condo talking gently and quietly, laying a hand on his trembling body.  For weeks, he lay cold as a stone.  After many days, his foster mom began to question if he could break out of this tomb-like depression and then, she felt it–the slightest twitch of muscle fiber beneath her hand.  She wondered if she imagined it or could it be real?  Later that day, she eagerly sat again with her hand on him and this time she knew it was for real.  Roger had come back to life.  He LOVED the butt scratches and chin rubs; he eagerly gobbled up his food and his eyes followed her everywhere. Roger is ready now to take his next step into a real home.  He is alive, active, can’t get enough attention.  There are times he is still afraid and he is tentative as he learns “to be a cat”. Roger is talkative and as much as he talks, he also hisses.  His hisses mean no harm–it is his way of chatting! He is learning how to play with toys; he is starting to enjoy sniffing out the house.  Roger gets along well with other easy cats–in fact it would be best for him to go to a home with another young cat to keep him company.  Because he is excitable, at times fearful and can be overstimulated, young children and/or an active home would be too much for him.  A gentle dog would probably be fine.  Roger needs an experienced  and patient Siamese owner or someone who has worked with emotional and needy cats.  We’re looking for that special someone to help him write chapter 2 of his history book.  Adoption fee $150.  FOSTERED IN OSHKOSH, WI.

BUBBLES…is an adorable SEALPOINT HIMALAYAN. He is 4 years old, neutered, front declawed, and just had a ‘nose job’ (laser surgery to enlarge his nostrils so he can breath normally). Bubbles has the BIGGEST blue eyes you’ve ever seen in a little 6-pound body! He has a bunny-soft coat (currently growing out of a lion cut) in a light mocha color with dark brown legs, tail and face, and crazy whiskers that just add to his incredible cuteness. Bubbles was left at a Chicago shelter by owners who ‘didn’t have time for him’ (evident by his badly matted coat). He was extremely scared when he first came into foster care, and was terrified of being picked up or held; but when he felt secure in his cubby, he loved being petted and would start purring and rubbing his little face against his foster mom’s hand, so we knew there was a nice boy underneath his fear. With time and lots of patience, letting Bubbles come along at HIS pace, he has really come out of his shell. He loves attention, petting, talks to his foster mom at length, and is even trusting enough to roll over for tummy rubs! And he LOVES to play, with little toy balls and mousies, but especially the feather wand toy (even more so now that he can romp and play without struggling to breath!). Bubbles will continue to flourish in a quiet, adult home experienced with shy kitties where he can gain confidence at his comfort level. He would be fine with one or two other docile cats. Dogs and children would be too much for him. Bubbles is one of the cutest himmy boys we’ve seen in a long time! If YOU have the perfect forever home for this little sweetie, he is waiting! Adoption Fee $200. FOSTERED IN BURLINGTON, WI.

SPECIAL NEEDS

COCOis a handsome SEAL POINT SIAMESE.  He is around 3 years old, neutered and has his claws.  He is a big boy at around 11 pounds, but is structurally large, not overweight.  He has an easy, short coat in creams and mochas and enormous bright blue eyes.  Coco came to us from a Chicago shelter with no history. He was very stressed there (as most Siamese are in shelters) but came around in foster care and has settled in well. His foster mom reports that he is a quiet, gentle, coach-potato sort of cat who likes nothing better than a sunny window from which to watch birds. Coco is perfectly healthy but is listed as Special Needs because he is shy at first and not particularly outgoing.  His foster mom can come up to him and pet him and he is fine with that but he doesn’t seek her out for attention. This may change over time as he gets more and more comfortable with his surroundings. He is a sensitive cat that would do best in a home with people who are cat-experienced and let him blossom at his own pace. He would probably be fine with another easy-going cat that would not bully or dominate him. Dogs and small kids would not be appropriate. Special Needs Adoption fee $80. FOSTERED IN DEPERE, WI.

GRETA…is a sweet BLACK PERSIAN.  She is spayed, has her claws and is around 2 to 3 years old. She is a petite 6 pounds and is currently shaved into a partial lion cut as she came into rescue very matted. Her coat is medium-care and will grow! Greta came to us from a shelter where she had been left when her people moved and left her behind. She was extremely stressed in that environment and the shelter knew they could not place her because she was so upset so they contacted rescue. It took Greta about a week to calm down from her stressful experience but she is now doing wonderfully in foster care and is looking for her Forever Home! As you can see by her video below, Greta is a friendly, happy girl, who has a new sense of self-confidence from being in a calm, loving environment. She has been excellent with her kitty roommates and very much enjoys being pet and fussed over. She is a typical female cat in that when she is done with petting she is done! She is a quiet, moderately active kitty who could use a similarly quiet, adult household. Kids and dogs would not be appropriate for her. A home experienced with Persian maintenance and cats in general would be preferred. Adoption fee $150. FOSTERED IN KENOSHA,  WI.

SHELDON…is a sweet BLUE POINT EXOTIC SHORTHAIR. He is neutered, just had a full dental and blood panel,  has his claws and is around 8 years old. He weighs around 8 pounds and has an easy, silky short coat in grays and cream and bright blue eyes. Sheldon came to us from a shelter in Indianapolis with no history. He looks as though he was pretty well cared for (except for his teeth, but we took care of that!) so perhaps his folks fell on hard times or his person died…we will never know. He does have a very “sad” look around his eyes though…like he is missing a family he will never see again. :(   As you can see by his video below, Sheldon is a bit chatty but loves attention and is a VERY sweet boy. He starts off a bit shy at first but he really leans into petting and interacting once he feels comfortable! Sheldon is more of a “couch potato” kitty and likes nothing more than a sturdy perch and a nice window from which to watch the wildlife. He is very gentle, calm and quiet and needs a similar type of home. He is very healthy for his age and probably has at least another decade of love to give!! He is good about combing and brushing and gets along fine with other calm cats that would not bully or dominate him. HE LIKES DOGS! Respectful kids would be fine.   Mature Adoption fee $100. FOSTERED IN KENOSHA.

BROTHER…is a gentle SEAL POINT SIAMESE.  He is neutered, has his claws, weighs about 8 pounds and is 6 years old.  Brother is the most gentle, sweet and loving little man one could ever ask for in a kitty.  Like so many others, Brother came from a crowded facility.  We have no history.  The thought of even the teeniest bit of “bad” happening to him just about crushes his foster mom’s heart.  Whatever it was that was “bad”, took its toll on him in that he is initially very shy and skittish.  He came in very underweight (less than 6 pounds, not eating and cowering).  Now after quiet and supportive time and lots of snuggles, he is eating, has put on 2 pounds and loves, loves, loves to be loved on.  He likes nothing better than to s–t–r–e–t–c–h out on his side like an extra long worm and just have his foster mom stroke and pet his very soft coat forever.  He loves having dinner with her too–as she has discovered that he is very much a social eater.  Brother doesn’t need much. In fact for him, less is really more.  He doesn’t need a lot of space, doesn’t need a lot of people; doesn’t need a lot of activity.  He takes a bit more time than average to become use to new things.  He has more confidence when you are with him and talking sweet nothings and he also does well with another nurturing, maternal kitty.  When he had his first vet visit, the good doctor fell in love as he snuggled deep into her arms and purred and purred and purred.  Brother must be listed as special needs because he is shy and skittish.  Although we prefer not to hang the “special needs” sign on a kitty since it typically makes them harder to adopt, Brother really does need a special, very patient and loving person.  A single, older person or quiet couple would be perfect.  Children and dogs would not be appropriate. A gentle, maternal kitty companion would be great.  A very patient person and routine environment will give Brother the opportunity to thrive.  A sweeter kitty you will not find!  Special Needs Adoption fee  $80.  FOSTERED IN OSHKOSH, WI.

DUNE…is a gorgeous SEAL POINT HIMALAYAN. She is around 1 year old, spayed and has her claws. She weighs around 8 pounds and has an easier, silky, full coat in creams and browns, nice “doll” face and bright blue eyes. What a looker! Dune came to us with her mother (adopted) from an owner surrender situation out of state. They could no longer keep the pair of cats and put them up (unfixed) on Craig’s list. Fortunately one of our ever-watchful fans saw this listing and told the owners to contact us and the pair was soon on their way to a loving foster home and full vetting and spaying! Yay, another success story! :) Dune is really very pretty, as you can see on the video below, and she is good about combing and brushing…even better! She is a naturally quiet, somewhat shy cat who is fine with other easy-going kitties that would not bully or dominate her. She is not particularly active and loves sunny windows and petting but is otherwise not particularly demanding. The best home for Dune would be quiet and adult. Kids and dogs would be way to much for this little sweetie. She would probably be an excellent apartment kitty and because her coat is pretty easy and her face more natural, should would be a good “first time Himalayan” for someone new to the breed. Adoption fee $175. FOSTERED IN KENOSHA, WI.

HOMER…is a SWEET RED AND WHITE PERSIAN.  He is around 3 years old, neutered and front declawed and just had a dental. He weighs around 8 pounds and  his gorgeous bright orange and white coat is shaved into a clean lion cut. He has bright gold eyes. Homer has spent the last year wandering around outside in a small Wisconsin community. Fortunately people were feeding him so he wasn’t starving to death (which he would have…he’s declawed!) but his coat was a mess and he was suffering from a painful open abscess on his chest and several bad teeth. A kind person in the community did the right thing and called rescue and within a day or so Homer was whisked into foster care and then on to one of our wonderful vets! He was immediately shaved, his wound clean and stitched up and his teeth taken care of. He is now doing great and now needs a great home! As you can see by his video, Homer is a VERY VERY NICE CAT. He LOVES attention and petting and is everyone’s best buddy! He is quite social, happy (and he should be! :) and would probably be an excellent family cat. He does fine with other cats, probably would be ok with a friendly dog that wouldn’t chase or bark at him. He will be a more of a high-maintenance cat as his coat is medium care and his face is very flat, meaning his eyes need to be kept clean (he is very good about all of that!). Homer is just a doll and anyone who loves Persians should jump on this joyful boy! Adoption fee $175. FOSTERED IN KENOSHA, WI.

ROGER TWO…is a handsome WHITE PERSIAN.  He is neutered, 4 paw decawed and just had a dental done . He has a medium-care snowy coat that is growing out of a lion cut, nice “doll” face and brilliant BLUE EYES! (Roger can hear just fine…some blue eyed white cats are deaf, he is not). Roger came to us as an owner surrender when she could no longer care for him. He is currently in a multi-cat foster home doing fine, though we think he would be a lot more comfortable in a home of his own! Roger starts off upset and shy in a new home (it was so hard for him to be moved from the first one) but soon settles in and is a very affectionate, sweet-natured boy. He is 9 years old and we had a full blood panel done at the time of his dental which indicates he is a healthy guy too! Roger would do best in a quiet adult home with no small kids. He’s actually good with dogs! Another easy-going cat would be fine. Mature adoption fee $80. FOSTERED IN GURNEE, IL.

ZOEY… is a SEAL POINT TONKINESE. She is 2 years old, spayed and has her claws. She is a petite cat at 6 pounds. She has a beautiful dark sable short coat and riveting blue eyes.  Zoey and her pal Zack (adopted) were kept in a household where they were unvetted, unfixed and perpetually breeding. Zoey is only 2 and has had something like six litters (and between the two of them the kittens were probably beautiful, but WE DON”T NEED ANY MORE KITTENS).  This pair came to our attention when their owner was evicted from his apartment and had nowhere to go with the cats.  Of course we had them fixed and vetted as soon as they came in to our care and they are doing wonderfully in their doting foster home! Zoey, being a female Tonk, is a friendly girl who loves to sit on her foster dad’s neck. She is shy with new people at first but comes around quickly and is really quite the charmer. She is a bit dominant with other cats, though she is doing fine in her multi-cat foster home. She would do best in a quiet, adult homes, as small children and dogs would be way too much for them.  Zoey’s adoption fee $150. FOSTERED IN RACINE, WI.

CELESTE…is a lovely BLUE POINT SIAMESE. She is 1 year old, spayed and has her claws. She weighs a petite six pounds and has an easy short coat in grays and creams and bright blue eyes. Celeste came to us from a shelter in Indiana with no history. She is currently in a multi-cat foster home and is having a grand time! She is very much the active, energetic kitten…busy with toys and enjoying the company of other young cats.  Her foster mom reports she is very friendly and affectionate and would be an excellent companion kitty for another youngster. She is excellent with scratching posts and her litter box and is just a LOT of fun! The best home would be one looking for an active cat. Older, respectful kids would be fine. Adoption fee $150. FOSTERED IN GURNEE, IL.

I HAVE A NEW VIDEO!

SAKI…is a gentle FLAME POINT HIMALAYAN.  He is neutered, front declawed and weighs around 13 pounds and has a medium-care coat (currently growing out of a lion cut), nice “doll” face and lovely blue eyes. We don’t know much about Saki’s life, other than it probably wasn’t very good.  He came in to us very nervous and the previous owner indicated he spent most of his time hiding under her dresser. However in foster care he is really starting to blossom. His foster mom reports, “He is very head shy (usually a result of being hit in the face or grabbed roughly), but has learned that it feels good to be scratched and is coming around more and more. He LOVES to have his butt scratched, and will chirp and mew with delight! He’s starting to show interest in a few toys, and will even roll over for tummy rubs once he feels safe! He’s a nice, quiet, gentle boy who needs a quiet home with someone who will be patient with him and give him the time he needs to settle in and feel safe.”  Saki would be a good companion kitty for another calm cat. He is currently rooming with another Persian and he is doing very well with her. He’s an affectionate, loving boy who is a healthy 9 years old and has many years of love to give!  We know there is a great home out there that will provide him with love and security. No small kids or dogs please. Mature Adoption Fee $80. FOSTERED IN MILWAUKEE, WI.

SPECIAL NEEDS

MILLIE…is a sweet BLUE POINT RAGDOLL. She is spayed, has her claws and weighs around 17 pounds. She is about 8 yrs old. She has a soft silky coat in blue and cream with lovely blue eyes.  Millie was adopted out 2 years ago but had to come back due to a busy child and big dog. She came back not only quite overweight, but she had spent the last two years of her life hiding under a bed.  Her foster mom reports that, “I thought she would hide for days, but she came right out and was so happy to get the kind of attention she wanted and had been missing  after 2 yrs living under the bed!!”  Her fur was greasy and dry and she had significant ear infections. Fortunately her foster mom has made great strides with her and Millie is SO MUCH HAPPIER that she is already shedding the pounds in the short time we have had her back and she is able to clean herself and not have painful ears.  She is very friendly and loves attention and gentle play sessions.  She gets on well with other cats and is fine with gentle dogs.  Because of her experiences with children we are recommending an ADULT ONLY home. Millie is listed as a Special Needs cat because her new people need to be committed to a healthy diet to help her shed the rest of her excess weight. She has had a full blood panel that was a little off on kidney values, but the vet said things were inconclusive and may well be due to her overall poor condition when brought back to rescue. Another check in 6 months is recommended. This lovely girl REALLY NEEDS A HAPPY ENDING! Special Needs Adoption fee $80. FOSTERED IN MADISON, WI. AT THE EAST TOWNE PET CLINIC WHICH GENEROUSLY DONATES SPACE TO SHOW OUR CATS. SHE CAN BE SEEN THERE ANY TIME DURING OPEN HOURS.

UNCOMMON KITTY KORNER

(From time to time we will offer non-purebred cats up for adoption on this website. These are cats that have stumbled into this rescue by accident, or have such great personalities they have been pulled from shelters because they would otherwise be euthanized due to space. These cats are every bit as wonderful as our pedigreed kitties and are looking for homes WITH YOU!)

NEWTis a darling RED TABBY DOMESTIC SHORTHAIR KITTEN. He is 12 weeks old, neutered and has his claws.  He has a nice easy coat with red and white markings and big gold eyes. Newt came to us with his mother, MOMMA KITTY (above) from a rural Indiana shelter. Due to overcrowding he would have been euthanized had he stayed there so we figured he was a purrfect candidate for our Kitty Korner!  Newt is the absolute typical kitten. He is VERY busy, happy, well socialized and always on the move. He has no problem telling you when he wants something and is QUITE the self-confident little man! He would do best in a home with another young kitty to romp with (he would NOT do well by himself left for hours).  Respectful kids and a friendly dog would be fine.    Uncommon Kitty Kitten  Adoption $125. FOSTERED IN RACINE, WI.
