Specialty Purebred Cat Rescue (SPCR) is a 501c3 non-profit organization in southeastern Wisconsin founded in 1999. We are proud of our 10 years of work, finding quality homes for abandoned/surrendered purebred cats! We are the largest rescue organization of its kind in the Midwest and we are well known and respected throughout the animal shelter community.
Since 1999, thousands of neglected and abused purebred cats have popped in and out of our lives (now averaging more than 700 per year). Though purebred cats make up a small percentage of cats relinquished to shelters, they tend to have the most specific needs. The cats with the most extreme needs are Persians and Himalayans.
There are many groups sheltering and dealing with the overwhelming numbers of “regular” cats that flood our communities. We are using our unique knowledge and ability to care for purebreds, and do so happily to this day.
